Chris Sandow played a solid match for Wentworthville this afternoon as the Magpies narrowly lost to the Auckland Vulcans 42-38 at Ringrose Park, Wentworthville. 

Sandow was a little quiet at first but began to relax as they game went on. He scored a try, set up a couple more and kicked a 40/20.

The Magpies were trailing 28-16 at halftime, but Sandow nearly won it for them at the end.

"It was a thriller at Wenty," said Triple M's Jason Ilagan. "Sandow brought things closer and gave the team extra spark toward the end."

Parramatta Eels coach Stephen Kearney was spotted at the match.

The Eels halfback and star recruit was dropped from first grade this week so he could find some form playing in the lower grade.
