Stephen Kearney To Coach Warriors Next Year

With the New Zealand Warriors not going well, there are whispers in league circles about the future of coach Brian McClennan.

This season sees the Warriors struggling to make the Top 8 despite having pretty much the same team that got them to the NRL Grand Final last year.

After watching the Warriors press conference last week following their heavy loss to the Cowboys, Matty Johns told the Triple M Grill Team he thinks Brian McClennan won't be there next year.

"Brian McClennan after the game said 'this season has been a disaster [and] I am blame myself for it'. I'm getting very, very strong word that Stephen Kearney will be the Warriors coach next year," he said.

Of course, Kearney didn't cut the mustard at the Eels this year, but he is the current Kiwis coach.

Grill team co-host Mark "MG" Geyer said Kearney would be the perfect fit.

"He'd be the perfect man for the Warriors job" he said.
