Nick Kyrgios Cops HUGE Tennis Ban
Nick Kyrgios has been axed from the tennis circuit, with officials frustrated with his recent behaviour in Shanghai.
He's the first player to be suspended for behaviour issues since John McEnroe in 1987, according to the Herald Sun.
Kyrgios has been slapped with an eight-week ban and a $32, 900 fine, with the ATP World Tour settling on this suspension amid reports they were originally pushing for a 12 week ban.
It is understood that the actual length of the suspension may be lessened if Kyrgios meets certain requirements in the off-season, such as consulting a sports psychologist.
This follows conjecture about Kyrgios' performance in Shanghai, where it's reported that he appeared to deliberately lose to German Mischa Zverev.
