Melbourne City Fans Ran The Worst Banner Ever Last Night
What the hell?
Melbourne City fans put up a banner during their game against Perth Glory at AAMI Park last night that had people scratching their heads.
Presumably they were paying tribute to departed guns Aaron Mooy and Patrick Kisnorbo, thanking them for the work they put in.
Kisnorbo, City’s captain last year, retired at the end of last season, and Mooy is now plying his trade in the English Championship for Huddersfield Town.
So the sentiment was right, but as for the execution… well, just have a look:
For reference, this is the image they seemed to be using:
Kisnorbo looks ok but Mooy seems to have been modelled partly on the actual bloke and partly on some kind of soccer playing alien.
People on Twitter were quick to poke fun at the weird likeness:
Even Mooy himself couldn't resist chipping in on Instagram:
Maybe they were just big fans of Dan Aykroyd’s 1993 classic Coneheads.
To make matters even more embarrassing for City, they lost 3-2 to Perth thanks to an Andy Keogh hat-trick.
