Oztober continues all weekend

Tell us your stories of the Best Gig Venues in the Limestone Coast that aren’t around anymore

G’day its Ewan. Live music and great Aussie artists have been part of the limestone coast for as long as I can remember.  Personally I have rocked out over the years at so many of the LSC live music venues. Dancing the night away to local and national acts that have played across the south east and western district of Victoria. The Community Club in Millicent, blueberries, shadows, the funk lounge, the Commersh, Naracoorte Community Club, macs hotel or at the Gambier the Barn  and who could forget dressing up to the Awesome Blitz

During the 60’s and 70’s live music spilled out of football clubs, the Show Hall at the Show Grounds, country halls and pubs across the region, and there are a number of Venues that are no more.

Everyone I know can tell stories of live music venues from across the Limestone Coast

Stories of bands like Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs at Kings theatre.  John Farnham when he was known as Johnny, Normie Rowe, Colleen Hewett, Johnny Young, the seekers Rocking out to the likes of Barnsey and the boys from Cold chisel. Checking out Paul Kelly, the boys from ACDC, the Screaming Jets and so many more

Dancing the night away to the Barn Big band and who can forget local groups Avenue and  Justice.

Other venues that are no longer here include Javeds, Ripples, The odean, Blueberries, and Purplz to name just a few.

As we Celebrate all things Oztober the Triple M team would love to hear your stories of amazing Live acts and the best gig venues in the Limestone Coast that are no longer here.
