David Cassidy Has Passed Away Today At Age 67

Heartbreaking news today as we learn that David Cassidy has passed away.

The former teen idol literally took over the world back in the 1970s as the star of TV’s The Patridge Family.

It has been announced today that he passed away at the age of 67 due to organ failure at a Fort Lauderdale, Florida hospital.

David’s family have released an exclusive statement to PEOPLE saying:

 “On behalf of the entire Cassidy family, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, our uncle, and our dear brother, David Cassidy. David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years.”

In February, The Partridge Family star told People magazine that he had to stop touring as a musician as he was suffering from dementia.

He was rushed to hospital on November 16 and was hospitalised for liver and kidney failure.

On Monday it was reported that the star was initially placed in an induced coma but had regained consciousness and remained in hospital surrounded by family.
