It's hard to believe that the MASSIVE MASSIVE Ed Sheeran gig is only 3 weeks away, but today, details were released about who is supporting him for the first ever gig at Optus Stadium.
Ladies and gentlemen, the one and only Missy Higgins.
Both extremely talented songwriters, it's a match made in heaven. She's one of the most successful and acclaimed female singer/songwriters in Australian music history, and has sold over a million albums in this country, enjoyed multiple #1 hits and won 9 ARIA Awards.
“I’m profoundly grateful for the opportunity to share a stage with Ed and play to so many people but it’s already giving me butterflies. I don’t know whether I’m excited or terrified - probably a bit of both!”
- Missy Higgins
It was also announced today that “Futon Couch” and the Ed Sheeran tour will lead into the early May release of Missy’s first album of original songs in 6 years. Solastalgia will be her fifth studio release.
The man himself, Ed Sheeran, is also on-board the Missy train.
“In Australia Missy Higgins will be joining me, which I’m very happy about as I’m a long-time fan of her music."
Sadly, for the slow pokes, tickets have sold out... but it promises to be a night to remember.
