Ever Heard Tree Rings 'Played' On A Record Player?

A German artist has created a record player that reads the rings of a tree trunk and converts it to its own unique soundtrack.

Just watch.

Bartholomaus Traubeck is the artist in question and his record player "reads" the texture and colour variations of tree rings, and interprets them as music.

Amazing! Puts a different take on the phrase "Let's have a listen to The Joshua Tree" ;)
