Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament says that it’s “probably safe to say” that the band will drop an album next year.

Speaking on Consequence of Sound’s interview series Kyle Meredith With…, Ament said the band needs “a good solid six to eight weeks carved out where we’re just recording all these ideas that we have”.

“The one thing we have working against us is the upcoming tour, the other thing we have working against us is it takes three or four months to do a vinyl version of any record,” he said.

He didn’t reveal much about the makeup of the album, but he did say that the band has ”a lot to be inspired by and a lot to be pissed off about”.

The news comes just months after the release of Can’t Deny Me, their first single in five years.
