Behind every great film is an even better soundtrack and today marks 25 years since the release of Singles.

The 1992 Cameron Crowe film inspired by the directors crush on Heart’s Nancy Wilson saw a young Chris Cornell star along side his band Soundgarden, Alice In Chains and a reasonably unknown Pearl Jam.

The soundtrack features tracks from Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, The Smashing Pumpkins and Jimi Hendrix!

Not even director Cameron Crowe could have predicted the future success of this film, capturing these world famous stars before they blew up.

Although set in the Grunge capital, Seattle, Nirvana weren’t in the film, although it was the peak of their success.

In an interview about the film, Nirvana didn’t want any involvement.

The film and soundtrack, that has continued to grow a cult following for the past 25 years tops the charts of music films ever made.
