A 22-year-old rapper has absolutely shattered a decades-old record held, until now, by The Beatles.

Post Malone - real name Austin Richard Post - released his second album Beerbongs and Bentleys two weeks ago and it has absolutely stormed the charts.

So much so, Billboard reports, that Malone's not only broken a 54-year-old record but he's utterly destroyed it in the process; the American currently has nine songs in the Top 20, seeing The Beatles' six and raising it three.

"As Post Malone celebrates his first No.1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart (dated May 12) as well as the biggest streaming week ever for an album, the rapper/ singer concurrently breaks the record for the most simultaneous top 20 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart," Billboard said

"Post Malone, whose sophomore effort Beerbongs and Bentleys opened with 461,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music, lands nine songs in the top 20 of the Hot 100, shattering the previous record of six, which was shared by The Beatles and J. Cole.

"The Beatles held the record for 54 years, as they charted six songs in the top 20 on charts dated April 11 and April 18, 1964."

For those unfamiliar with Malone's work, some of the tracks off his newest album include Psycho (feat. Ty Dolla $ign), Same Bitches and Rich & Sad.

He does have the backing of some pretty big names though; he recently joined Tommy Lee and John Mayer to perform Congratulations at a show at The Forum in California.
