Toto's Africa is such a recognisable tune, but it's never been heard like this.

One Polish engineer has converted a bunch of old computer hardware into a music machine that blasts some classic tunes.

The man, Paweł Zadrożniak, combined 64 floppy drives, 8 hard drives and a pair of scanners with his own written software to read and play music.

The floppy drives play noises at all sorts of pitches, while the hard drives are designed to whack against metal guards to sound like drums.

It's a giant mess of old hardware called the Floppotron, and it can create some awesome-sounding renditions of songs such as Africa.

The video has already racked up half a million views on YouTube in just two weeks.

The bloke's channel contains a bunch of other songs, including  The White Stripes' Seven Nation Army, Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit, A-Ha's Take On Me and Eurythmics' Sweet Dreams (which almost sounds real).

He's even done TV themes like Game of Thrones and Thomas the Tank Engine.

Worth checking out.
