A couple of us here at the radio station were lucky enough to catch pre-release glimpse of the new Queen biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody.

Quite frankly, the post-mortem on the movie is that it's pretty much the best "band" movie ever made.

It's that good!

Rami Malek, who plays the late great Freddie Mercury, absolutely nails his performance as the iconic front man, so much so that old mate Oscar has been bandied about in the office today by those who saw it.

Ditto for the actors who played the rest of the band. As the movie rep stated last night;

"Brian May is more Brian May that Brian May himself!"

Yep, that good!

The filmmakers pulled out all stops to make this movie as epic as possible. We told you about how Queen fans were invited to sing A cappella into an app for the chance to appear in the movie, and, it's reported that Rami Malek watched Queen's 1985 Live Aid gig around 1200 times in order to nail his performance for that particular scene.

The movie opens nationally next week - Thursday November 1 - and it's an absolute must on the wide screen slash epic sound system.

It's an absolute MUST if you're a Queen fan or just like one or a few of their many hit songs.

Even if you're not, the Queen story is a great story with a famously poignant ending, so as Molly would say, do yourself a favour!
