Soccer over music? Sounds like Green Day fans are in the minority.

A Green Day concert in Peru has been forced to shift venues due to the FIFA World Cup.

The second leg of the tie between Peru and New Zealand, played on November 15, was scheduled for the National Stadium in Lima, clashing with a Green Day concert scheduled for the day before.

It forced the band to shift their gig to the San Marcos Stadium, moving aside to allow the Peru national team to host New Zealand.

The Peruvians finished fifth in their South American qualification, forcing them into a do-or-die series of clashes with the Kiwis.

"We wish the national team luck in such a historic match. Plus, we expect to see all our fans at the same venue as our 2010 gig, for the celebration," the band said last month.

Fans are able to request a full reimbursement on their ticket if the date and venue change doesn't work.
