The Espy has officially announced it will be reopening in November of 2018!
After extensive renovations to the St Kilda venue, organisers say will host an “eclectic range of contemporary musical tastes”.
Peter Bain-Hogg, the Espy's Entertainment Manager, says the hotel aims to be a music destination for the city.
“A trusted venue where they will be able to hear leading local and international artists, and see up-and-coming artists cut their teeth," he said.
Head to the Hotel Esplanade website to find out more information about the renovations, which are set to include a basement stage, public bar and garden terrace overlooking St Kilda pier.
It’s been dire times for the live music scene in St Kilda since the closure of the iconic Esplanade Hotel but news has come today that ‘The Espy’ has been given the green light to re-open.
The iconic venue was the first of many much loved venues that shaped the history of Australian rock music that faced closures but Music Victoria have announced the venue is set to reopen October 2018.
The post also states the venue will return as a live music venue.
Looking forward to rocking out at this great space again!
