After the Brisbane memorial for Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington had been cancelled after gaining too much popularity, fans have got together to make sure this event will be back on.

Event organiser Rachel Petan talked to Triple M to deliver the sad news yesterday (read more here), but she’s been offered the support of other fans to ensure this memorial will go ahead with fellow fan, Patch Edwin who said;

"Great news! After much deliberation, the Brisbane memorial to commemorate the loss of Chester Bennington, lead singer of Linkin Park, is back on; This is a peaceful assembly intended to allow grieving fans an opportunity to pay their respects and say goodbye, as they would at a funeral. No alcohol is to be consumed on site and no candles are to be lit; however, electronic candles are OK".

The memorial is one of hundreds being held around the world to pay respects for the late singer, who tragically passed recently.

Fans gathered at Melbourne’s Yarra River this weekend to show their respects:

The Brisbane event will be held at Emma Miller Place, Brisbane Sunday 6th August.
