Jimmy Barnes was admitted to hospital over the weekend after injuring his leg in a fall on-stage.

Barnesy was performing at a rodeo in Mount Isa on Sunday evening when one of his legs fell in a 30cm gap between two sections of the stage.

The 62-year-old music legend continued his "fantastic" set although, fans told The North West Star, they noticed blood "trickling down his leg".

Barnes left Mount Isa on a flight after his performance, when he then headed to hospital for treatment for a "deep cut and severe bruising" to his thigh, according to Music Feeds.

He was released on Monday.

Barnes will still be walking the red carpet in Melbourne on Thursday night for the premiere of his new movie, Jimmy Barnes: Working Class Boy.
