After 50 years with the Rolling Stones, guitar legend Keith Richards is probably one of rock’s foremost expert on drugs.

And in an interview with The Telegraph, Richards gave his judgement on drugs like Xanax and Percocet that are in vogue amongst the younger generation.

“Drugs are not interesting these days,” he said.

“They are institutionalised and bland. And anyway, I’ve done ‘em all.”

Richards reckons he’s “definitely of all of this stuff” now, but said that “in six months time I might be on it again”.

Despite the retirement of contemporaries of his like Elton John — “After three years on the road with Elton, you would want to retire, too” — Richards said that Stones have no plans to call it a day.

“There’s never ever been a word about it muttered among ourselves,” he said.

“I guess the day’s obviously going to come, some day.

“But not in the near future.

“We’re all looking forward to doing what we’re doing, especially back in Blighty.”
