Kenny Loggins wants to re-release his 1980s hit Danger Zone for Top Gun: Maverick.

Loggins has revealed he's spoken to Top Gun star Tom Cruise about a new version of his smash hit for the movie, which releases next year.

He plans to put a new twist on it, perhaps by combining with "a young act" for a duet.

“I met Tom Cruise on [The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon], and I asked him that question," he said.

"He said, ‘Of course, we have to use Danger Zone.’

"So I’m hoping to do it, maybe as a duet with a young act. I’d love to work with, well, there’s young and then there’s young. We have some feelers out to some pretty cool rock acts.”

Top Gun releases on June 12, 2019.
