The iconic and much loved live music venue The Espy, located at St Kilda’s Esplanade has been sold according to Theage.com.au
The venue, that closed almost two years ago, was only meant to be closed for 6 months of renovations, although after all venue staff found new jobs and the scaffolds didn’t move for over a year the local music community thought otherwise.
According to The Age, The Sand Hill Road group have purchased the venue that shaped the Australian music scene.
Although the company have no live music venue experience we’re hoping they will honour the venues legacy and keep it as south sides home of live music.
With the Prince Bandroom now a restaurant and The Espy sold what does this mean for the future of St Kilda’s live music scene?
