A Nirvana reunion has just took place at Cal Jam 2018, featuring Joan Jett, John McCauley & more!

If you're unfamiliar with Cal Jam, read more about the festival here.

With Fooies front man Dave Grohl playing a big part in the festival's rebirth, here at the M's we were sure that there would be some form of a super-group appearance at this year's Cal Jam... and we couldn't have asked for a cooler collaboration!

Dave Grohl and Foo Fighter's guitarist Pat Smear have just been joined by former Nirvana Bassist Krist Novoselic, rock legend Joan Jett and Deer Tick's John McCauley - both of whom fronted Nirvana for the 2014 reunion show at their Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction. Brody Dalle of The Distillers (and wife to Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme) also took to the Bass Guitar whilst Krist helmed the accordion.

In what seems to be the biggest Nirvana set-list ever played by Dave and Krist (since Kurt Cobain's untimely death), they performed an approx. 30-minute set of Nirvana classics, including "Serve The Servants", "Scentless Apprentice", "In Bloom", "Breed", "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "All Apologies"!

Krist had this to say: “Thank you Joan Jett and John for filling that void for us...".

Fans have been sharing their videos online, see below!

If only Cal Jam was coming Down Under! We can dream...
