Nice work by Pearl Jam

Pearl Jam have invited all their former drummers to join them for their induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, according to Uproxx.

The move comes a few months after ex-drummer Dave Abbruzzese spoke out publicly about his lack of inclusion, despite his work on their classic albums Vs. and Vitalogy.

Abbruzzese — who was fired from the band in the mid 90s — said that he hoped the band would “know what’s the right thing to do”.

And it would seem Pearl Jam have come round to his way of thinking, extending the olive branch not just to Abbruzzese but also their other ex-drummers Dave Krusen, Matt Chamberlain, and Jack Irons.

They announced the news with this tweet:

If you can’t read the ancient art of handwriting, here’s what it says:

With the date of the Hall of Fame event coming up it’s just now sinking in what it means to us.

While awards and accolades are understandably subjective and a countless number of our peers have yet to be honored, we do feel fortunate to be recognized and provided the opportunity to reunite with everyone who has been part of the group.

Specifically the drummers who all left their distinctive mark on our band in the pre-Matt Cameron years.

Dave Krusen, Matt Chamberlain, Dave Abbruzzese, and Jack Irons are each individually great players who gave their all to the early recordings and live gigs.

Looking forward to seeing them and all the other musicians on the bill. Have to say wish H. R. and Perry Farrell were gonna be there too. If nothing else it makes us feel lucky and appreciative of the nod.

The beat goes on.

The ceremony will be taking place on April 7th in New York.
