Popular live music venue, The Brunswick Hotel is closed for the foreseeable future after an accident Thursday night.

A car mounted the kerb and hit a fire hydrant located outside the popular live music venue, located on the corner of Sydney Rd and Weston St Brunswick which caused flooding and structural damage to the pub.

The venue that is open 7 days a week for live music is a key player in the Melbourne music scene, having hosted international successes including Tash Sultana and Amanda Palmer and homed Samuel Johnsons Gold Logie:

At this point the extent of the damage is still be evaluated, with the venue closed for the unforeseeable future, leaving bands and the venues staff at a loss.
