REVIEW: Foo Fighters Pay Tribute To Malcolm Young In Rockin' Sydney Gig
"I like it fast and I like it weird!"

It feels like we’ve been waiting months for this rock extravaganza – because we have!
An epic night kicked off with local legends The Preatures and Weezer – their first Australian tour in a while - as more than 50,000 people packed ANZ Stadium on Saturday, a stinking hot and humid one in Sydney.
Bang on time, The Foo Fighters hit the stage with their rockin' new one Run – and the crowd just went off.
It was interesting to see how well the new songs were received, with The Sky is a Neighbourhood and Sunday Rain also featuring in the set list.
The first hour was just non-stop hits from the Fooies; in fact that hour went so quickly you didn’t realise they had done nine songs!!
Then Dave went down the catwalk to be closer to the crowd, and the banter began: “I like it fast and I like it weird!”
Walk and Let it Die were next – a song dedicated to the “old school fans”.
The band introductions was a brilliant part of the set; Pat’s choice of Blitzkrieg Bop was just a highlight. They got about as far as “Hey Ho, lets go…!” and moved into Taylor’s version of Under Pressure with Dave back on the drums.
The encore came after some build-up and teasing from the band; a big screen backstage showed writing teasing: “How many songs…? 2? Nah!! 3??? Nah…. 4?? OK!”
Their salute to Sydney fallen hero, AC/DC’s Malcolm Young with a cover of Let There Be Rock followed…. And dear God it was loud.
Everlong however, is the only way to wrap up a Foo Fighters concert.
The fans could go home happy; three hours solid of Foo Fighters hits. What a night!
