The Divinyl's frontwoman Chrissy Amphlett has had an impact on Victorian music like almost no other musician has had.

And she's set to be recognised posthumously for her contribution when she's inducted into The Age Music Victoria Hall of Fame next month.

Her official induction will take place at the Music Victoria awards on the 21st of November.

Chrissy Amphlett joins the newest member, Ian 'Molly' Meldrum, who was officially inducted last month.

Speaking to the Age, Music Victoria chief executive Patrick Donovan was full of praise for Amphlett.

''Chrissy has a Melbourne street named after her and a mural in her hometown of Geelong, and it's about time she was inducted into The Age Music Victoria Hall of Fame,'' Mr Donovan said.

''While she may have left us five years ago, her influence lives on in acts such as (best live band nominee) Amyl and the Sniffers, Ella Hooper and Dallas Frasca.''

Past Hall of Fame inductees include John Farnham, Olivia Newton-John, the Seekers, Archie Roach, Renee Geyer and Mushroom founder Michael Gudinski.
