The Espy In St Kilda To Be Restored To Its Former Glory

Melbourne pub group Sand Hill Road has said it will bring iconic Melbourne live music venue The Esplanade in St Kilda to its former glory after buying it, according to News Corp.
The Espy has been closed for around two years and is scheduled to open next October.
Word is the pub will be five levels when after the renos, with the previously hidden away top floor to be turned into a cocktail bar.
Sand Hill Road co-founder Andy Mullins — who now owns the pub along with Vince Sofo and Paul Adamo — told News Corp that the newly renovated Espy will feature three live stages including the iconic one in the Gershwin Room.
There will also be a 300-capacity beer garden, a main bar with a “whisky lab” and The Espy Kitchen restaurant.
There will also be a stage for jazz and blues and a bottle shop.
“St Kilda and Melbourne have really missed The Esp,” Mullins said.
“We’re excited to bring it back. It’s a massive responsibility.”
