The Foo Fighters turned up on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke segment recently, and predictably smashed it.

They sang All My Life, Best Of You, Learn To Fly, The Sky Is A Neighborhood, did a three-way drum off between Corden, Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins and put on an impromptu concert at a Guitar Centre where they played Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up.

But it turns out the performance wasn’t as much fun as it was made to look.

“By hour three in the dude’s car it got less fun,” guitarist Pat Smear said in an interview with NME

“It kinda went on. When we stopped at Guitar Centre, that felt like we were done, but it was like ‘this is halfway’.”

Dave Grohl said it was a bit weird singing his own songs.

“I don’t mind singing my own songs at Glastonbury or The O2,” he said.

“But if I had to sing you a song right now I’d be too embarrassed… We did the Ramones, and Rick Astley, but they didn’t use it. I don’t know why.”
