This year’s ARIA awards were huge, celebrating the huge fresh talent we’ve seen emerge locally this past year and recognise some classic legends.

Reigning the awards was fresh talent Amy Shark, who not only opened the awards with a kick ass performance but took home  3 awards for Best Female, Best Pop Release and Album of The Year.

Our favourite Jimmy Barnes took out Best Soundtrack for Working Class Boy. Accepting the award, the Cold Chisel frontman thanked his family "who lived through this f*cking life with me".

Home Grown favourite Vance Joy took out Best Adult Contemporary Album, Dean Lewis took out the award for the Best Video, Tash Sultana took home Best Blues & Roots and Parkway Drive took out Best hard Rock/ Heavy Metal release, with Courtney Barnett taking out Best Rock Album for 'Tell Me How You Really Feel'.

It was hard to not be moved by Kasey Chambers induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame, with the quote of the night; "Don't be a dickhead".
Paul Kelly shared a touching poem about Kasey saying she lives in the Hall of Fame in his heart.
