Blink 182 frontman Tom de Longe has told the world that we've been saying the name of his band wrong all these years.

Apparently it isn't "Blink one eight two" at all, but "Blink eighteen two". Here he is on Twitter with the admission, in response to talentless late night talk show buffoon James Corden:

But was it a joke? The tweet has had over 6,000 Retweets and nearly 25,000 likes, plus hundreds of comments from fans whose minds have been blown by the revelation and unsure if it's a pisstake.

De Longe has started being a bit more active on social media recently, his instagram showing a recent important "meetings" in Europe on the subject of his beloved aliens. Plus, promoting his children's book 'The Lonely Astronaut', which we hope is as nuts as De Longe himself.

But surely it's just a huge, accidental coincidence that Tom De Longe suddenly raises this idea of us getting the band's name wrong at just the same time as he's trying to sell his book for Christmas...
