Northern Ireland indie rockers Two Door Cinema Club brought their electric live show back to Melbourne for the first time in four years last week, providing fans at Festival Hall with a high-octane, dance-filled experience.

Playing their final Splendour In The Grass sideshow, the trio provided the show their Australian fans have been waiting almost five years to see again.

Kicking off with Cigarettes In The Theatre, the opening track from their all killer no filler debut album Tourist History, the crowd were amped.

Oldschool Two Door fans would have pumped with how the gig started, with Undercover Martyn, Do You Want It All? and This Is The Life rounding off an all Tourist History led opening stanza.

Since last on our shores for a headline tour, Two Door have honed their synth heavy dance rock to a fine art, and that was evident as they banged out hits from 2016’s Gameshow album, Bad Decisions and Lavender.

Never really one to articulate anecdotes to their audience, lead singer Alex Trimble would rather let the music be the entertainment, and the crowd lapped it up, not stopping to move until the house lights came back on.

Playing hits from their entire three album catalogue, Two Door left no one unsatisfied.

As they strode back on for the always unsurprising encore, there was only one song they were ever finishing the gig with.

After shredding Someday from 2012’s Beacon, the crowd lit up as Trimble and crew ripped into What You Know to round out another killer performance from the lads.

Let’s hope we don't have to wait another four years to see them again.
