They tour the world, they play to packed stadiums, they've won Grammy awards, they are a household name, but you don’t really know what Wolfmother are about until you experience them live in classic pub gig.
The band fronted by Andrew Stockdale has been rockin’ the world for over 15 years, but hasn’t played a headlining show in his home country for about 9 years!

Walking into a filled up Croxton Band Room, a venue that’s hosted the best of the best of Aussie rock, including AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, the energy is buzzing regardless of it being a Sunday night. Punters are decked out in their fav rock t-shirt, drink in band, awaiting to see the high energy three piece. The band, recognised for their huge hair come bursting onto the stage, hair as huge as the sound.

Three songs in, the whole audience is rockin’ and out comes an extra microphone on the stage, when Stockdale introduces good mate and Aussie rock royalty, Powderfinger’s Darren Middleton onto the stage:

Yup that's just @dsmiddleton from @powderfinger_bandofficial with @officialwolfmother

The special guest appearance takes the crowd to another dimension of excitement, rocking out to popular hits from the past fifteen years, including the simple yet fun Apple Tree.

The band bring it to the now to play the latest single, Gypsy Caravan with special guest, who also co-wrote the tune, Kram from Spiderbait!

As we hit the 2 hour mark, there’s no sign of the band tiring as Stockdale and his band, Ian Peres and Alex Carapetis playing every songs as if it’s the first on stage- Peres, juggling keys and bass duties in the most energetic way, with drummer Carapetis being such a hard hitting and one of the best in the industry!

After a sweaty, energetic, few hours the band leave the stage for only moments before returning to take on Black Sabbath’s War Pigs, with special guests Kram on drums and You Am I’s Davey Lane on guitar.

WATCH:

The final tune, Joker And The Thief is a classic reminder that these Aussie’s are one of the worlds best rock bands, something we should be proud of.
