American singer songwriter Ryan Adams first burst into the music scene in the year 2000, when the world was changing, the internet became a social scene, the 90s were a thing of the past and Adams wrote an album that he had no intention of other people enjoying let alone being obsessed with.

That record was Heartbreaker and since then, Adams has released 16 albums, toured the world, collaborated with Elton John, John Mayer and Johnny Depp.

Adams will be touring Australia later this month to support the release of his 16th studio album Prisoner and celebrating the release of Prisoner B-sides, which is a mammoth 17 tracks of brilliance on it’s own.

The tour see’s play Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Byron Bay and bringing his huge live show to Australia for the first time since 2015, a live show he compares to watching MTV with huge Star Wars like light shows, TVs and speakers on stage and then stripped back to what you come for- the music!

On touring Australia, Adams says; “It’s so wild to me that I’m on stage in Australia, it’s very surreal. It’s a place I feel a place to celebrate my life because I’ve survived a lot”.

This incredible new record has been inspired by heart break, but the songwriter also became obsessed with running during the time of making this album and the process of consuming music, without distraction has changed his view on music.

Not only has this landmark record come out after a divorce and lifestyle change but this record has given Adams the confidence to find himself, where as others in their 40s are doing the complete opposite.

In regards to a follow up to Prisoner, there’s still two albums to go, the album initially made to be a 3 part release, the other albums don’t have release plans yet, but there’s 30 odd songs in the vault.
