Cy Walsh, the son of former Adelaide coach Phil Walsh, will seek a limited release from his psychiatric facility for multiple sclerosis treatment.
Cy Walsh has applied to the Supreme Court for permission to go to hospital for treatment and rehabilitation after being diagnosed with MS.
The case has been adjourned until March next year while expert reports are created by the court.
The 29-year-old is currently in a maximum security psychiatric facility after killing his father in July 2015.
He was found not guilty of murder due to his mental incompetence, after being diagnosed with schizophrenia following the events.
The Supreme Court ruled that Walsh was affected by undiagnosed and untreated schizophrenia when he stabbed his father multiple times.
