A man who admitted brutally murdering his fiance in a shocking domestic violence incident has today been jailed for 22 years.
Neil Young admitted strangling Jody Meyers to death after the pair had an argument at a BBQ in the Murraylands in August 2015.
The 31 year old later tried to cover up the crime by burying the 20 year old mother of his child under a concrete slab in his parents' back shed near Mannum.
It was almost a month before police excavated the shed at Murray Park and made the grim discovery.
The 22 year sentence is more than the legal minimum term for murder in South Australia.
Meyers' family and friends sat in court for the sentencing wearing "justice for Jody" t-shirts.
His mother Margaret Archer will go on trial next year accused of helping cover up her son's crimes.
