As predicted, City of Albany council rates have gone up for the  2017/18 financial year by 2.5 percent, which council describes as "modest". However this means more pain for Albany households, but in comparison to other local government areas round regional WA, Albany has fared better with some councils increasing rates by up to 4 percent.

City of Albany CEO Andrew Sharpe explained to Triple M why rates have gone up.
