Albany Detectives have charged two men after an incident in which three police officers received a number of injuries.

It will be alleged around 5pm on 2 November 2017, police were called to a disturbance at a house on Carbine Street in Orana.

Police stopped to question a man nearby about the incident, before he fled inside a house in Flemington Street.

A group of officers attempted to enter the address to speak to the man, but were confronted by a large number of aggressive people.

A male Senior Constable received injuries after being allegedly struck to the head with what is believed to be an axe handle.  Another male Senior Constable was struck to the jaw and was hit in the face by full can of beer.  A male Detective Senior Constable was assaulted and received facial injuries.

All three officers were conveyed to Albany District Hospital and have since been released.

A 21 year old Lockyer man and a 19 year old Albany man have each been charged with Obstructing Public Officers and Assault Public officer.  They will both appear before the Albany Magistrates Court today.

Investigations are continuing into the incident.
