Gee it's been cold in the Great Southern this week!

After some low temperatures over the past few nights, locals from various organizations will sleep out in Albany Town Square this Thursday night to show their support for Homelessness Awareness Week for 2017.

It's a huge problem in the community, and with prices rising and unemployment levels up, it's not getting any better.

Last year, around 15,000 women and 9,000 men sought assistance from homelessness services in Western Australia (AIHW, 2016) and approximately 7,000 children under the age of 18 accessed homelessness services.   Each day 67 households are being turned away from homelessness services.

Ending homelessness is possible, and Homelessness Week is an opportunity to work towards this goal.

On Thursday night, Albany Youth Support Association will be hosting a Sleep Out in Town Square, head along and show your support.
