Roller Derby heads to Adelaide

Major comp for our girls

Article heading image for Roller Derby heads to Adelaide

Roller Derby is one of the more progressive sports in Albany and the South Coast.

The Great Southern Breakers have received plenty of support from the local community over the last few years with regular bouts against teams from Perth and the Southwest.

Strong attendances at the Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre were followed by a move to a custom built facility on the western fringe of Albany in the Gledhow Industrial Estate know as The Track.

Now our derby team is off to Adelaide for The Great Southern Slam.

48 teams will compete in approximately 80 roller derby bouts over 3 huge days.

It will be a good chance for our girls to test themselves against other clubs across Australia.

Win, lose or draw, join them at their next big event, back to the SK80's on the 16th of June at The Track.
