Tarang Chawla tragically lost his 23 year old sister Nikita in 2015 when she was murdered
by her partner.

Since then he has been dedicated to end violence against women and his efforts earned
him the honour of Finalist Young Australian of the Year 2017 (Victoria).

A lawyer and author, Tarang will visit Albany to share his story at the 2017 Family Violence
Conference. His keynote address will give a personal insight to the underlying causes of
family violence and what needs to be done to prevent it.

The 2017 Family Violence Conference is coordinated by the AFDVAG with support from the
WA Family Law Pathways Network, AnglicareWA and Soroptimist International Albany
Branch. It will take place at Centennial Stadium, Albany on Thursday 26 October and is
open to all interested members of the community.

Conference tickets including lunch are $55 and can be purchased at Paperbark Merchants,
York St. or online at paperbarks.com.au
