With the weather easing up, locals were encouraged to try cycling to work for National Ride2Work Day for Wednesday, October 18.

City of Albany TravelSmart Officer Julie Passmore said most people could comfortably cycle 5km in less than half an
hour, with 2km taking just 10 minutes.

National Ride2Work Day aims to get Australians active by including cycling in their daily routine, with some workplaces
hosting healthy breakfasts as incentive for employees to cycle.

Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and City of Albany staff were among thousands of
Australians that cycled to work.

City of Albany Events Team Leader Adele Leahy began riding to work earlier this year on an electric bike leased
through a salary sacrifice package with novated leasing company E-stralian.

“I genuinely love riding to work, even if it is only a 10 minute journey,” Ms Leahy said.
