The state government’s implementing a $50 rebate if Central Victorians seek out a better electricity deal on the Energy Compare website as part of the Victorian budget.

To receive the $50, residents simply have to log into the website between July 1 and December 31 and search for a better deal - you don’t have to sign up to any offers to receive the cashback.

However the Andrews government is reminding the average Victorian household has been saving an average of $330 on their energy bills in the first year after switching to a different deal.


The latest report from the Australian institute of health and welfare- has shown that the health of mums and their babies- varies based heavily upon where they live.

Child and Maternal health 2013- to 2015- presents findings on 4 indicators which measure, infant and young child deaths, the rate of newborns with a low birth weight, smoking during pregnancy and attending antenatal care services in the first trimester.

The Murray Primary health network, which includes Bendigo, had the 5th highest rate of mothers smoking during pregnancy in the country at 19.3


RSL Victoria's calling for all Central Victorians to buy and wear an ANZAC Appeal badge proudly this year to support our current and former defense personnel.

Badges will be available at the 100 RSL sub-branches across the state as well as in Woolworths and Officeworks stores among other local businesses.
