International visitors are continuing to flock to the Goldfields in their thousands after the latest stats for overseas visitors were released for Victoria by Tourism Research Australia.
Almost 225,000 overseas tourists made their way into the Goldfields in the 12 months up to September while almost 50,000 stayed the night.
The overall numbers are slightly down on last year's 237,900 but there was a 7.1 per cent increase on overnight stays.
Bendigo saw a total of 74,300 internationals which was a 4.5 per cent decrease on last year and 18,400 stayed a night.
Total expenditure in the region topped 46 million which was the highest number since 42 million was spent in 2012.
Victoria had a total of 2.8 million international visitors during the 12 month period bringing a record total of 7.1 billion dollars.
