Victoria's alps are going to experience blizzard conditions this weekend with a barrage of cold fronts moving over the state.
Mountain communities and people heading off for a weekend on the slopes should brace for damaging wind gusts up to 110 km/h and heavy snowfalls are likely.
While it's good news for resorts, which have endured a disappointing amount of natural snow so far, the passage of fronts will mean gusty conditions shut down lifts.
It might be best to hit the slopes once the low pressure systems subside on Monday.
The winds will be gone and the best snow of the season waiting to be carved up.
The SES is urging all Victorians to take extra care with strong, gusty winds, hail and rain forecast for other districts until Monday.
