Brisbane's New Bunnings Will Be Fancy AF

Bunnings has traded the old shed-style set up for something a little more apple-esque for their newest store to be built in Newstead, just south of Brisbane's CBD.

Concept plans for the $16 million, 17,000 sqm site have been released with construction set to begin in the next few weeks.

Architects Thomson Adsett said the design relates to the fine-grain and saw tooth form typical of the historic Newstead wool stores and industrial buildings.

"The clean, simple saw tooth roof provides indirect south day lighting and opportunities for solar panel installation on north facing roof shapes. It also assists to visually break down the large volume of the building into three sections and creates a strong street presence," the company said on their website.

It's also expected shipping-container style cafes will pop up around the store which will adjoin a future residential development.

The project is set to create more than 500 construction jobs and 230 permanent staff roles once it's opens to the public.

But the most important question.. WILL THERE BE A FANCIER SAUSAGE SIZZLE?
