Big questions from the RACQ about why Brisbane drivers are paying more for fuel than those in the other big capitals, and even more than some of our regional towns.
To give you an idea of how much things have climbed.. on Thursday, the average price for unleaded in Brisbane was $1.11c, but by Friday morning that's jumped to $1.29c)
The motoring group has now crunched the figures for May.
Renee Smith says it's the seventh time in 12 months we've been the most expensive.
"Brisbane paid more on average of 4 cents a litre than motorists in Sydney. That might not sound like much but filling up the tank is one of our major weekly expenses outside of getting the groceries so it really does add up"
"Brisbane service station profits are 55% higher than the national average, which is just outrageous"
Smith says the RACQ wants the government to look at what they're doing south of the border.
"That's real time transparent data, and that would allow us to name and shame those service stations that are ripping off motorists"
