Billabong's former big boss has been sentenced to eight years jail for forging his ex wife's signature on bank documents - but he'll probably only serve half of that.

Matthew Perrin copied his then-wife's signature to borrow more than $13 million from the Commonwealth Bank.

Brisbane's District Court heard on Friday that the bank was still owed about $9 million.

Perrin was also accused of showing little remorse for his crimes.

The Gold Coaster will be eligible for parole in late 2020.
