A fast-moving grassfire is burning close to a gas depot and industrial estate at Coolum on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.
Police shut the Sunshine Motorway in both directions after flames jumped the road on Thursday afternoon.
Workers at nearby facilities were evacuated when it started burning in close proximity to the gas depot.
Motorists are being diverted off the motorway between Coolum and Peregian Beach, onto Yandina Coolum Rd.
"Visibility's really poor," a police spokeswoman said.
The grassfire started in a nearby national park before breaking containment lines, with emergency services alerted around 1pm.
Fourteen fire trucks are on site trying to contain the blaze.
