Queensland Woman Allegedly Bashed With A Baseball Bat

Detectives have charged a teenager and a 20-year-old man after a Facebook blow-up allegedly saw a woman bashed with a baseball bat in Waterford West.

Police will allege the 23-year-old woman was attempting to defuse a heated situation involving three males who were targeting her 20-year-old friend at around 10pm on Saturday night.

During her attempts to intervene, it’s alleged the woman was assaulted with a baseball bat, receiving several head and facial injuries.

The trio of men reportedly fled the scene in a silver Commodore but were intercepted by the dog squad a short time later at the intersection of Rellam Road and Richards Street in Loganlea.

The incident saw the 20-year-old man transported to Logan Hospital where he received treatment for a broken arm and a laceration to the head.

The 23-year-old woman sustained serious head injuries and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

A 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old from Loganlea have both been charged with grievous bodily harm, wilful damage, and assault occasioning bodily harm while in company.

The 20-year-old was due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
