Tara Brown's grieving mother has vowed never to read a "worthless" letter written by the former Bandidos bikie who murdered her daughter, Tara Brown.
Speaking to Channel Nine, Natalie Hinton and Tara's step-dad Jon Gardiner said the 24-year-old's convicted killer, Lionel Patea, is a monster.
"His apology to Tara. It's worth nothing now she's gone," Ms Hinton said.
Patea yesterday pleaded guilty to the domestic violence road rage murder of Tara 18 months ago and was sentenced to life behind bars with 20 years non-parole.
In the letter, Patea talks about Tara being his "dream catch", an "angel on earth" and promised to rehabilitate behind bars. He also pondered about how "such a tragedy" could occur.
"The question that haunts us all (is) how such a tragedy like this could ever have happened," he wrote in the letter, tendered in court by his defence team.
Ms Hinton said nothing Patea could say could excuse the explosion of violence that robbed the former couple's very young daughter of her mother.
