Woman Charged After Serious Assault In Brisbane's West

Detectives are investigating a serious assault in which a woman was headbutted and a man was beaten with a metal pole, after a fight broke out among housemates in Inala.

Officers were called to a residence on Lorikeet Street at 10.10pm last night, and it will be alleged that an altercation between a group of men and women resulted in a 41-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman being transported it hospital with head and facial injuries.

It is further alleged that a 24-year-old woman was taken to the QEII Hospital from the address for treatment of a head injury and was then taken to the watch house and charged.

A 24-year-old woman has been charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and enter premises with intent.

She is due to appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court today.
